WELCOME TO HOUSE OF HOPE
A Women’s Supportive Sober Living Home by Shaganappi Recovery Solutions Inc.
Today, we proudly celebrate the opening of HOUSE OF HOPE, our newest Women’s Supportive Sober Living Home in Edmonton.
This is more than the opening of another house.
It is a promise that when a woman reaches out for help, there should be somewhere safe for her to go.
There continues to be an urgent need for safe, structured and substance-free homes for women leaving addiction, homelessness, detox and treatment. Too often, women do the incredibly difficult work of getting well, only to return to the same environments where their addiction and trauma began.
House of Hope was created to provide another choice.
Across many First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities, women have carried powerful and deeply respected responsibilities since time immemorial. They are mothers, daughters, sisters, aunties, grandmothers, matriarchs, caregivers, teachers, knowledge keepers and protectors of family and community. Through their strength, teachings and connection to culture, women have helped carry languages, traditions, stories and ways of knowing from one generation to the next. When we create a safe place for a woman to heal, we are not only supporting one life—we are honouring her place within the circle and strengthening the generations that walk beside her and those yet to come.
When our women heal, that healing reaches our children.
When families heal, generations can begin to heal.
For many Indigenous families, the effects of residential schools, child welfare, displacement, addiction, violence and intergenerational trauma have travelled through generations.
But so have strength, culture, resilience, love and survival.
At House of Hope, we want women and our 2 Spirited loved ones to have the opportunity to reconnect with those strengths while rebuilding their lives through recovery, structure, accountability and community.
To every woman who walks through these doors:
May you find safety here.
May you rediscover your strength here.
May you learn to trust yourself again.
May you laugh again.
May you dream again.
May you remember your worth.
And may Creator guide you as you build the life you once thought was impossible.**
